Military Markets
Dontech, Inc. designs and manufactures optical filters, components and precision optics to enhance the optical performance and function of rugged electronic displays and optical systems. Products include chemically and thermally strengthened glass and plastic substrates coated with vacuum deposited antireflective and/or conductive coatings, as well as scratch and abrasion resistant coatings. Optical fine wire mesh and conductive grids are produced for more demanding EMI attenuation requirements. Product testing includes environmental parameters of MIL-810F and optical performance per MIL-14806, MIL-675C and MIL-L-85762A.
Providing innovative solutions, Dontech’s products include liquid crystal displays (LCDs) used in direct sunlight, electromagnetic interference/radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) shielding of displays, and displays used in night vision systems. Dontech provides kick glass and optical components embedded in display systems used in military computers, cockpit controls, hand-held electronics and instrument panels, as well as complete display assemblies.

Dontech’s products are incorporated into rugged laptop computers, mobile communication devices, military GPS systems, vehicle displays, targeting and sensor systems, and LED arrays for improved EMI/RFI shielding, environmental and optical performance. Our customers range from large government prime contractors to OEMs to government agencies. Display sizes range from microdisplays to >64 in. diagonal displays
To meet the EMI/RFI attenuation requirements of MIL-461 (RE101 and RE102), Dontech manufactures optical filters and display assemblies with fine wire mesh or low resistance (<5 ohms/sq.) transparent conductive coatings. Additionally, we can incorporate band rejection coatings to reflect near infrared (NIR) and infrared (IR) radiation for NVIS (per MIL-3009) and transparent heaters or heat reflectors for thermal management applications.
Dontech also manufactures complete enhanced and optically bonded display assemblies with front EMI cover glass, touch screens and rear surface transparent heaters. Dontech precision optics includes substrates such as fused quartz, sapphire and zinc sulfide optics for laser and sensor applications. Dontech can apply both antireflective and dielectrically enhanced conductive coatings for NIR and IR EMI/RFI shielding and laser applications. Our vertically integrated facility and engineering design team is well equipped to support military display and optics projects of any size and complexity.
